Gestation

I've come to terms that it takes a LOT longer to get the dust settled on a new business.  A LOT.   What I thought would take meager months I now realize will take better part of a year- or more.  From getting a grasp on the "image" of the brand, to actually creating the product, to marketing, to figuring out all this fancy shmancy computer stuff- and I mean it is FANCY!  You graphic designers are a whole other breed.
It's all a matter of itsy bitsy baby steps.  It's kind of funny to even be talking so seriously since this is just my wee little etsy shop we are talking here but as my mama always says: if you're gonna do it, ya might as well do it right.
So my advice for all of you awesome self starters out there is: Be Patient.  We did not bust out of the womb walking.  It took a little while, as it will for your business, no matter how incredibly genius of an idea it is. Have your meltdowns over time ticking, wallow around in despair from things not happening fast enough, and then get up and keep going.  Its not really so much about having a great idea or being super duper talented.  What I believe distinguishes the winners from the losers is endurance.  The winners get knocked down just as much as anybody else BUT they choose to get back up. Again and again and again...............and again.

So throw those shoulders back, take a deep breath, and march on.
See you next time.

Weeks end.

This weekend was spent surrounded by some of my most favorite people.  Beautiful inside and out and every which way.  The kind that fill your soul with wonderful goodness.  I've been reflecting on how we humans affect one another in the most profound and quiet ways, each and every second of our lives.  For most of us go completely unawares of the magic that we bestow on another's soul.  How our very presence, good or bad, completely alter the course of another's path.  We go about independently but forever together. Swimming in the mess of our own creation.

Have a wonderful week.

Horse

Color
Here are some photos of my sisters horse I took over the weekend.  I love his rich, dark color and the way it stands out in the camera. Makes the perfect color palette for fall. Hope you are having a great week!

THE HILLBILLY KID

Break open the bubbly the shop is open!............FINALLY.  For most of you that know me this is like knock your socks off amazing because I actually completed something.  Truly, this is epical.  Through out my life I have continued to constantly get really close to finishing something -large or small- only to abandon it mid air.  Some from boredom, some from fear, some for reasons I can't explain.  But here I am. Checkmark.  Will I make millions of dollars from this? eh. never say never.  But thats not the point.  Because my soul is rolling in richness.  And that is all that matters.
Goodnight!

Foxhollow Farm

This past Saturday we spent the afternoon out at Foxhollow Farms for their annual Fall Festival.  They had an amazing turnout.  I think every child, family, and pregnant lady of Louisville was there at some point!  It was a tad bit of a toasty day but we enjoyed it all the same.

There was face painting......with this oh so cool mirror.

Little Lambs to befriend.........

Fishing for loot..........

Hay Castles to be conquered.........

Wiltshire Market did a fabulous tamale stuffed with beef brisket, black beans on the side, and crispy coleslaw.  I fully intended on taking a photo of its wonderful goodness but a las it was in my tummy before I realized I forgot to snap the pic!  As you can see Hillbilly Baby stuffed his mouth full! Ha!

Fall is here!  Lets hold it dear!  For winter is near........and thats just a drear......

Have a great week!
